Prerequisite: Practical Rifle 1
Class Start: 9:00 am
Class Location: Per location annotated on calendar. Buchanan GA, Taylorsville GA & Dahlonega GA. Details will be emailed week prior to class.

The course picks up where Practical Rifle 1 leaves off with continued focus on fundamentals and enhancement of individual  skill sets.We’ll introduce team based tactics, communication, and drills while extending engagement distances to 200 yds. Structured around  practical application of fundamentals of marksmanship and fire and maneuver principles Practical Rifle 2 establishes the foundation for skills development and the application of specific tactics necessary to prevail in a lethal force encounter.

  • Precision vs Practical accuracy
  • Multiple threat engagements
  • Shooting from uncomfortable positions
  • Shooting on the move
  • Identification and use of cover
  • Threat identification and personal reaction times
  • Close quarters shooting
  • Intermediate distance shooting
  • Team tactics and communications

Gear List:

  • Rifle w/sling (single or two point is fine).
    • Semi-auto magazine fed
    • Iron sights & or optics
    • Know your zero distance
  • 350 rounds of factory loaded ammunition (no steel core ammunition)
  • Magazine pouch (if none don’t worry pockets work well)
  • A sturdy belt for the magazine pouches (try your gear on prior to class)
  • As many spare magazines as you have (saves on reloading time)
  • If you carry a rifle for a living feel free to bring your 1st & 2nd line gear
  • Eye & ear protection (foam inserts or muffs – electronic muffs recommended)
  • Hat with bill & sunblock
  • Raingear
  • Pen and Paper
  • Comfortable clothing and footwear. Wear something you’d use to go hiking in a national forest for the day (this is not the time to break in a new pair of platforms, pumps, wedges, sling backs, etc.)
  • Knee and elbow pads (optional) – Knee pads will help during range cleanup
  • Water or similar for hydration (1 gallon)
  • Bring a lunch
